Malaysia is going through a critical phase – politically, socially, financially and religiously. Over this week, petrol bombs were thrown at a few churches. Victor, Ravind and I have just come back from visiting Metro Tabernacle in Desa Melawati. We wanted to extend our support as a church to them. Damage was extensive on the ground floor. But it is amazing how we as Christians respond in adversity – forgiveness, strength and trust in Jesus. As I shared last Sunday, “All things work together for good to them that love the Lord” (Rm.8:28)
So what can we do for Malaysia?
1) Realize that God rules over Malaysia.
God is in control. We do not have to be worried intimidated or fearful. God knows what He is doing
Ps.22:28 For the kingdom is the LORD’s and He rules over the nations.
Ps.33:12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people He has chosen as His own inheritance.
2) Start praying for Malaysia
More than anything else, Malaysia needs prayer. Let us claim Malaysia for Christ.
Ps.2:8 Ask of Me, and I will give You the nations for Your inheritance, And the ends of the earth for Your possession.
Pray for all those in authority – Our King, Prime Minister, Minister, etc
Pray for all the people – Malays, Chinese, Indians, etc.
Pray for all the churches
Pray for God’s power to be manifested.
3) Stand for Righteousness
Pro.14:34 Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people.
It is righteousness that exalts a nation. Unrighteousness will bring a nation down. There must be truth and justice in the Government, Judiciary, Enforcement (Poilice, Army, MACC, etc), media, etc. Righteousness, justice and truth must prevail for our Malaysia to prosper.
The God kind of change is coming. We need to rally with God.
“Malaysia we love you.”
